Kyara M. Lombre was born in Washington, DC, and later moved to Bowie, MD, when she was five years old. She first discovered her passion for storytelling in high school as a member of the TV Production Club. She was immediately fascinated by lights and cameras, and since then, has devoted herself to telling stories through all forms of visual media.
Kyara completed a bachelor’s degree in Communication and Media Studies at Bowie State University, before moving on to Florida State University, where she pursued her master’s degree in Television and Film. When she returned home, she worked for Maryland Public Television (MPT), where she produced and directed documentaries like “Voices of Baltimore” which chronicled the 2015 Baltimore riots for Freddie Gray.
With over ten years of unique experience behind the lens and behind the scenes, she has continued to define and refine her craft. However, over time, she learned that her talents and dreams were often being boxed away inside a cubicle. So, she quit her job with MPT as an Associate Producer and started her own company, Lab House Studios, formerly Lab House Productions.
Kyara specializes in outdoor portrait photography as well as videography for small events. Her style is contemporary/modern, simplistic, and clean, lending itself to dynamic, engaging, and beautiful images. There is no occasion or event that she can’t handle, from professional head shots to family portraits, and engagement sessions to weddings. Ultimately, she is a firm believer in creating memories that will last a lifetime. If she captures it, you’ll love it!
